RED UMBRELLA WALK
JUNE 19 is World Sickle Cell Day all over the world.
And we celebrate big!
Annually, we engage the city in the Red Umbrella Walk!
Red Umbrella Walk is an awareness walk aimed at reaching people on the streets with the right information about sickle cell disorder. Donning red shirts and hoisting red umbrellas, we spread awareness about sickle cell disorder, genotype testing and healthy lifestyle.
Since 2016, the Red Umbrella Walk has been organized in Lagos under a united front, the Coalition of Sickle Cell NGOs in Nigeria, in order to cover more ground and reach a wider audience. From Ikeja to Victoria Island and Surulere, the annual walk has made a huge impact.
Come June 15 this year, it promises to be entertaining and gratifying as we lace our shoes and hit the nooks of Yaba, Lagos for yet another edition of Red Umbrella Walk!
Watch out for the Red Umbrella!
