Talk about community engagement, that’s exactly what SAMI did with her medical outreach to Abule Odu, a community in the Egbeda-Idimu axis of Lagos.

For the third time this year, Sickle Cell Advocacy and Management Initiative (SAMI) visited the community with her team of doctors, nurses, and volunteers on 28th September, 2019. It also provided an opportunity to impact the measurement of the two previous editions.

While there were largely new beneficiaries at Abule Odu 3.0, there were also return beneficiaries who expressed their delight at the positive influence the medical outreaches have had on their wellness and health awareness.

Many of them hoped that the non-governmental organization will continue the noble programme in their community so as to increase awareness about sickle cell disorder among the growing populace in the emerging suburb.
