RUNWAY JAZZ HONOURS SAMI
Runway Jazz, an event that brings music and fashion to the same stage honoured Sickle Cell Advocacy and Management Initiative among others with the 2017 Runway Jazz Humanitarian Award in the Not for Profit Category.
Receiving the award from the Wife of The Vice President together with a representative from UNESCO, our Founder and Executive director, Ms. Toyin Adesola thanked the organizers for the award, shared the journey they have gone through, and challenges of health care among people sickle cell disorder. She dedicated the award in memory of sickle cell warrior who had fought the sickle cell battle and had passed on
The event which was held on the Sunday 29th May had captains of industry and people from all works of life in the audience. Featuring performances by U.S Gerald Allbright, Heavy Wind and Tiwa Savage the event birthed as Nigeria’s contribution to UNESCO’s mandate of promoting peace, Unity, and dialogue through the annual world jazz day. Others honoured at the event were Future Access Foundation, Dangote Foundation, and Ibidun Ighodalo Foundation.
