SAMI’s Office Opens for Businesss after Lockdown

When the Lagos State Government declared a total lockdown of activities in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Sickle Cell Advocacy and Management Initiative (SAMI) also had to put her office under lock and key in adherence to government’s instructions.

The health-based NGO had to do an extra four weeks after the government announced a gradual easing of the lockdown in order to ensure the safety of its staff.

But when the organization announced its official re-opening on 1st of June via its social media handles, the news was greeted with pleasure and excitement by its esteemed donors, staff, volunteers and beneficiaries.

In all, the close of office took about 12 weeks  did not affect us too much as we tried reaching are beneficiaries with palliative and drugs, However, we are back on site to making a difference by reaching more people, one life at a time
