In commemoration of International Women’s Day, SAMI, in collaboration with WTEC, convened a two-day virtual business bootcamp designed exclusively for women living with Sickle Cell Disease, equipping them with practical entrepreneurial skills and pathways to economic empowerment.

The summit, held from March 9 to 10, brought together participants from diverse locations in an engaging and impactful learning environment.

Day One featured a highly interactive session on digital marketing facilitated by Adeyemi Odutola, who exposed attendees to strategies for building visibility and driving growth in the digital economy.

On the second day, participants explored key business management principles under the guidance of Jeffery Guobadia, who provided insights into sustainability, structure, and scaling small enterprises.

The participants who completed the entire 2-day training were awarded certificates at the end of the Bootcamp.

The collaboration between SAMI and WTEC underscores a shared commitment to advancing inclusion, innovation, and economic empowerment for women facing health challenges. The initiative was widely praised for its relevance, reinforcing the need to create sustainable opportunities for female sickle cell warriors to thrive beyond medical limitations.
