It was a night of impact and recognition for foremost Nigerian health nonprofit, Sickle Cell Advocacy and Management Initiative SAMI as it celebrated great individuals, families, and organizations which has been part of her success story in the past five years. The cocktail also doubled as a charity event to spotlight the grandiose efforts of the organization as it brings smiles, styles, and shines to sickle cell warriors, their caregivers, underserved communities and the general public.
In his brief opening remarks, leading management consultant and Chairman of the board of SAMI, Mr. Foluso Phillips hailed the Founder/Executive Director of Sickle Cell Advocacy and Management Initiative, Toyin Ibidunni Adesola for her audacious leadership which has been driving the organization since its inception in 2008. He thanked the staff, donors, partners, and supporters of the organization who has been involved in all the programs and projects of SAMI in the years past while urging them to continue their support.
The keynote delivered by the Secretary of the board, Foluke Ogunbekun did an in-depth look into the human resources of the organization. Rehashing the fact that the staff have been critical and will continue to be critical to the success of the organization, she encouraged the guests at the event to seek ways by which the ‘body of the organization’ will get required attention to do their job productively and rewardingly.
The Olatundes comprising the power couple, Mr. Makanjuola and Mrs. Diane; Mrs. Chinedu Nwagha; MyEasters Pharmacy UK; Lorem Excellentiam; Xcene Research; and Emmanuel Ikubese were recognized for their immense support and contributions to the organization.
The staff were not left out of the recognition as they were awarded for their various roles in the organization. They include Maureen Nwachi, Peter Osikoya, Bolaji Ibrahim, Abayomi Oyelami, Sandra Onwuzulike, and Priscilla Anomneze.
