Held during the church’s Inclusion Sunday service, the outreach recorded an impressive turnout, with 34 congregants stepping forward to donate blood. Following rigorous medical screening, 17 donors were certified fit—each contribution representing a critical lifeline for patients in urgent need of transfusion support.
The intervention provided a comprehensive package of free healthcare services designed to address both the clinical and psychosocial needs of beneficiaries. Services included medical consultations with doctors, nursing care, psychological support, genetic counselling, arts therapy sessions, and the distribution of routine medications, all delivered at no cost to about 300 participants in attendance.

The award was presented at the Woman of Substance Conference and Awards held on Friday, March 6, 2026, an initiative led by renowned media personality Ify Onyegbule and her team. Adesola, who was unavoidably absent, was represented at the event by SAMI’s Communications Officer, Yomi Oyelami, who received the award on her behalf.
Titled “Inform Right, Inform Well,” the two-hour virtual training was held on Wednesday, 18 February 2026. It was exclusively designed for journalists, broadcasters, editors, writers, content creators and other media practitioners across the country. The event which is part of SAMI’s activities to mark World Radio Day 2026, reinforced the vital role of the Fourth Estate of the Realm in shaping public health awareness.
The memorial service which was held at the Church of Assumption, Lagos, was followed by prayers at The Vaults and Gardens, Ikoyi. Despite falling on a weekday, the event recorded a good turnout, underscoring the far-reaching influence and goodwill that Banke Alawaye built during her lifetime.
